Installation guide →Browser extensions are for desktop Chrome and Edge. On mobile, try online.

Install on desktop

  1. Use an official Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons link above. If a link is not available, try the online desktop instead.
  2. Review the store listing and requested permissions, then choose Add to Chrome or Get in Edge.
  3. Confirm the installation. Open a new tab and follow any browser prompt to keep the extension’s new tab page.

If another new tab extension is active, use your browser’s Extensions manager to choose which one to keep enabled.

Install an offline package

Download the official package using Offline install above. For an unpacked ZIP release, extract it to a permanent folder, open your browser’s Extensions manager, enable Developer mode and choose Load unpacked. Select the folder containing manifest.json and keep that folder in place.

CRX installation depends on your browser and device policies; a browser may block installation outside its store. Follow the instructions supplied with the package or use the official store. Offline packages may require manual updates.

Explore the online desktop

Choose Try Online to open WinTabOS. Explore the available shortcuts and tools. The online application controls its own account and storage options.

Guest mode & accounts

Use the guest option if it is offered by the desktop. For an account, follow the desktop’s sign-in or registration flow. Do not assume local data is synchronized: cloud sync availability and supported data will be documented when released.

Import your bookmarks

First export a backup from your browser’s bookmark manager. If your desktop version offers bookmark import, use its import control and review the supported file format. Keep the original export until you have confirmed your bookmarks are present.

Remove the extension

Open Chrome or Edge’s Extensions manager, find WinTabOS and choose Remove. Your browser will stop using it for new tabs. Export important locally stored information before removing the extension or clearing browser data.

Using a phone or tablet?

The extension is intended for desktop Chrome and Edge. Choose Try Online on mobile; tools and controls may vary with the application’s mobile support.
